Ironically, Soulbound is a project I brought back to life.
It began with a thought--"hey, what if a necromancer bypassed the 'True Love's Kiss' stage of reviving Snow White?"--and lay dormant for years in the margins of my high school notebooks. In the summer of 2018, while working at a summer camp in my native Oregon, I got thinking about old things lurking in the lush forests around me, and returned to my "chaotic good" necromancer on scraps of paper in the art tent.
The fledgling idea of a happy-go-lucky necromancy prodigy and his cynical zombie companion followed me through my college graduation, refusing to be confined to a single short story or one-shot no matter how hard I tried. Things started to click when said zombie decided SHE was the protagonist, and what began as a margin scribble has overgrown its fairy tale roots into the pitch bible and 22 minute pilot animatic you see here.
Which brings us to the present. Greta and Niall are more than ready to go on their adventure. I'm not quite sure what form their story will take--webcomic, cartoon, interpretive dance (ok maybe not THAT one), but I know it will be told.
